Substance Abuse

Substance abuse is behavior that involves regularly using or consuming drugs, alcohol, and other psychoactive substances to the detriment of the individual. Our facility is equipped to help with addiction and substance abuse issues, including those caused by genetics, environmental factors, and mental health disorders.

Genetics, a person’s home, school, or community environment, and mental health challenges can dramatically increase a person’s risk of addiction, and with addiction comes poor judgment and an inability to recognize dangers. As a result, addiction accounts for most DUI and OVI cases and the fallout from these situations.

According to NHTSA, 2022 statistics show one person dying in a drunk driving crash every 39 minutes, with 32% of all traffic fatalities in the US involving drunk drivers. Meanwhile, statistics from the US National Survey on Drug Use and Health show the extent of substance abuse among Americans:

  • More than 10% of Americans 12 and older reported an alcohol use disorder in the last year.
  • Nearly 10% of Americans 12 and older said they struggled with drug use in the last year.
  • Almost 3%, about 8 million Americans in this same age group said they were dealing with both alcohol and drug use disorders.
  • Of the 46.8 million Americans battling a substance use disorder during this time, about half also reported mental health issues.

Our professionals understand the devastation addiction can have on the individual and the family. We provide immediate care, rehabilitation solutions, and ongoing support for those in need.
